Bio

Daria Troitskaia is a photographer based between Milan and Malta, originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia. Working primarily with black-and-white film, she is known for her hand-printed gelatin silver prints and for long-term projects centered on presence, gesture, and the trace of moments that have already disappeared. Her practice moves between backstage ballet, urban rituals, and other authorial projects, with a particular interest in discipline, fragility, repetition, and the tension between form and instability.

Alongside her analogue practice, she works in aerial photography, using medium-format cameras from helicopters to explore landscape, abstraction, and spatial perception from above. Originally trained in graphic design and having worked as an art director before turning to photography, she approaches the image with a strong sense of structure and visual precision.

Her work has been exhibited internationally across Europe and Asia, including exhibitions at Leica Galleries in Nuremberg and Taipei, Celebration of Photography at Leica Gallery Singapore, and the Best of Show exhibition of the Analog Sparks Film Photography Awards in Italy. She is also a collector of cameras and art.
